‘Andreis’
Babić, Dalmatia, Croatia
A red like an intriguing mosaic set right in the bowl of a drinking fountain to contemplate while you sip. Vinas Mora is a winegrowers' cooperative near Split, Primošten, situated on COMPLETELY barren limestone rocks just a few meters above sea level. FUN FACT! ‘Andreis’ is from a single vineyard of 25-year-old Babić vines near the 16th century Fort Andreis, which protected the region from Ottoman invasion and gives the wine its name today! Babić is a regional Croatian grape common to the Northern Dalmatia region and known for its well-balanced acidity & spiced notes. The grapes see a mixture of four to six hours of maceration to maintain a supple tannic structure. Blackcurrant, salt coated herbs, black cherry squish, peppered plums, violets & pea blossoms. Enjoy with goulash & listening to birds chirp through the kitchen window.
