‘La Salita Bianco’
Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Abruzzo, Italy
A full & rich sipper that is asking you to open your mind to the orange-ness and subscribe to the fan base. Okay maybe that’s a bit too cult-y, but this is a perfect orange wine and deserves a little worship. Iole Rabasco inherited her family’s small vineyard, La Salita, (and olive grove!) which resides on steep limestone and clay slopes, never treated with chemicals, where she grows beautiful & classic Trebbiano d’Abruzzo. Aged in glass-lined tanks followed by malolactic fermentation in bottle, this is a sophisticated but playful totem - who we truly would follow into the dark? Dried apricot, wild honey and flowers, pear and citrus are tangled up with fresh herbs and perfect acid. Approachable and stirring.
