‘Testone’

‘Testone’

Montanera, Piemonte, Italy

Drinkable Italian heritage through the lens of a curious truck driver. Mario Siragusa is a wild card wielding rough rider who officially began selling his wines in 2018. ‘TestOne’ is made with fruit purchased from a grower in Val Pellice, a valley in the Italian Alps just South of Mario. Montanera is known by a few names to the older, local farmers, but not much of it is still planted, making this wine a real rarity, even in its homeland. After being left for two weeks on its hearty black skins, we get this brooding & honest wine. Thick sap, intergalactic apricot, log pile & making an aero-press coffee while camping ocean side. Drink while watching ‘The Menu’ and contemplating Ralph Feines’ near imperceptible smirk.
