‘Como el Agua’
Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Jura, France
If the movie ‘Mars Attacks’ (1996) was a beverage, here you have it. New-to-Ontario young winemakers Antoine Le Court-Chedevergne (Angers, France) and Julia Naar (Rio, Brazil) are part of an exciting ripple of low-intervention winemaking talent to newly settle in the harrowed French winemaking region of Jura (also famous for its perfect salty cheese, Comté). They currently source organic and biodynamic grapes from trusted winegrowers all over France. The Como el Agua is the result of a two month long, whole-cluster co-maceration of pinot noir and chard – grown by some close friends in the Jura. Raspberry flintstone vitamins, sour apple, salty dirt, tomato water, smoked plum spritz, 2x4 plank, purple flower & green guava. A particularly ‘Jura’ feeling savoury wine from their lineup, pour alongside messy chicken wings and grilled meats of any kind.
