An unexpected co-ferment for lovers of tarot card readings, crystal pendants & watching Emma Stone play an illegitimate psychic in the 1920s. Born and raised on his family’s vineyard, Desert Hills, Rajen Toor launched Ursa Major in 2016, joining the ranks of young natural winemakers changing the scene in British Columbia’s, Okanagan Valley. Organically farmed in Kaledon, the vineyard overlooks Skaha Lake and grows from aromatic inducing sandy loam soils. Harvested the same day, the versatile and plummy merlot (60%) and distinctively spiced gewürtz (40%) were destemmed and macerated for 14 days to meld and unite. A renaissance flower crown tied with a ribbon, thorns and all, pulpy, dusty tannins, carrots in soil, a structured bite & roasted plum jam.
