This wine feels like it was inspired by David Bowie’s makeup circa 1973 in both vibe & appearance. Hungarian expat Róbert Gilvesy returned to his homeland from the Canadian farm he grew up on to begin building the Gilvesy winemaking kingdom – and look at him now! The breathtaking region is shaped by six million year old volcanoes (!) creating powerfully textured wines. The PIXU is a rare, private offer orange we snapped at consisting of 100% bright and layered welschrielsing. The idea of a gentle pressing, little to no sulphur & no filtration are part of a new (and more natural) direction for the winery. Yellow apples, citrus sorbet, living in a pineapple under the sea (are you also excited for The Little Mermaid?), ground ginger & perky minerality. Pair with purchasing your own sushi mat & learning to fillet a tuna!
