‘Aligoté 1953’ magnum
‘Aligoté 1953’ magnum, Burgundy, France
A nutty, floral & mineral aligoté magnum for nights of plentiful frivolity. Montreal born, extensively experienced winemaker and lively Chablis-force, Patrick Piuze hunts down old vines from top notch growers. Sourcing a good portion of sustainably farmed fruit, his bottlings punctuate unique aspects of each region, grape and year. Made entirely from an established aligoté plot in Saint-Bris that was planted in 1953, the prized grapes are ripe with minerality, acids and aromatics. FUN FACT! The vineyard is surrounded by fields of hemp! Smoking citrus, honeysuckle, oven-warmed, sugary brazil nuts, fire poker, rinsing your hands in the ocean & a full green apple curd mouthfeel. Save for a 4+ person get together – poker night, group birthday celebration or Severance viewing party.
