‘Camino de Navaherreros Tinto'
Grenache & Tempranillo, Sierra de Gredos, Spain
A dense, chewy & enchanting red for all occasions. Cousins and winemakers Juan Diez Bulnes and Santiago Matallana Bulnes work on the eastern edge of Spain’s Sierra de Gredos mountains, located a skip and a hop from Madrid and famed for their dense, but lifted wines. A lushly-berried and herbaceous grenache dominant blend (90%), with rich and tactile tempranillo (10%), from 50-90 year old vines. Fermented with 75% stems for bumped up texture and grip, before a lengthy maceration of up to 65 days. A quintessential expression of the area and its rugged, sandy and granitic vineyards. Stew of cherries, cherry stones and strawberries, delicate spice, blood orange fritz, leather harness & exploding liquorice. Enjoy with braised beef & roasted rapini.
